A Bit More Up-To-Date

Below is the temperature chart from GISS that the global warmers are using to scare us all.

Yep, just look at that rise. However, the chart is almost a decade old. The more recent chart below shows a different story:

This second plot - from the same place, GISS - shows that the temperature increase peaked in 2006 and is now trending downwards, and is already down to the 2000 levels.

The top chart shows a .6 degree C rise from the stable temperature period of the 50's, 60's and 70's, to 2000.

The middle chart has the latest data available and shows a .4 degree C rise from 2000 to 2006, the peak period, and a much more rapid drop of .4 degrees C from 2006 to now.

This last chart is a plot showing global temperature versus sunspot activity. Although it does not go to 2000, or 2008, it does plot the correlation between the two from 1860 to 1980. Note the large 1940 peak on both the top and bottom plots, and the downward trend of sunspot activity after the 1940 peak, which is reflected in the stable temperature period of 50's through the 70's.

I would like to find more recent sunspot/temperature correlation data, but so far no luck.

To me, this data indicates we are going through a normal cycle of warming and cooling, a repeating cycle generated by solar activity, something not under the control of mankind. To irresponsibly blame it on human generated emissions is bogus.

This sort of readily available data is one reason why I think Al gore and his army of alarmists are wrong... and should be ignored.

Your first indication that global warming was a scam was that Dan Blather was the only one screaming about it, before Al Gump picked up the tune; a Presidential candidate who couldn't even carry his home state...'Nuff said.
