The Well-Paved Road To Peace

Not really. We only see more of the same:
JERUSALEM: Israel should cut off outlying Arab neighborhoods from Jerusalem, Deputy Prime Minister Haim Ramon demanded Thursday, a day after a Palestinian construction worker from one of those districts went on a deadly rampage in the city center.
We Americans need to understand what's happening in the middle East, rather than just listen to all the spin we are exposed to daily.

The Arabs believe the Jews stole their land, creating the modern-day Israel on the land they know as Palestine. They want this "State" of Israel eliminated, one way or the other. They will not stop attacking Israel- ever. There will never be peace between the two.

What the Jews claim to be a biblical or historical claim to the land makes no difference whatever to the Arabs... never has, never will. It is a millennia-old fight that will not be over until one side or the other is obliterated.

The Jews know this. The Arabs know this. The Americans don't. That's why we are stuck in the middle.

But... it's going to reach a climax soon.

Wars - short or long - takes lots of money. Us Americans, after decades of supporting Israel militarily and financially, are now funding the Arabs with billions and billions more dollars than we have ever thrown Israel's way. Oil dollars. Our oil dollars. They will be used to shove Israel into the sea.

What absolute irony.

Seems then president Nixon -way back when - was correct when he made the comment that Israel's long-term chance of survival was zero.
