Terminate Those High Wages

Get em, Arnold:
SACRAMENTO (AP) - Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is threatening to pay thousands of state employees the federal minimum wage of $6.55 an hour until lawmakers reach a deal on California's overdue state budget.
Not a bad idea, since most of them are only worth about half that when push comes to shove.

A lazier, less motivated bunch would be hard to find than a typical gaggle of state employees... pick any state... doesn't matter. But - in their defense - some state employees sometimes put in a good thirty minutes of real work almost every day.

A few have even been known to crack a sweat on extremely rare occasions, although no real evidence of such an event has ever been presented.

Imagine all those state workers having to get along on the same level of income that millions of Americans do. The resulting wave of misery would be biblical in scope. All the wailing, and the moaning, and the sad song singing we would have to suffer through. Biblical, I tell you, biblical.
