Black Hole

Simulated view of a black hole in front of the Milky Way. The hole has 10 solar masses and is viewed from a distance of 600 km.

The first thing that comes to mind when somebody well schooled and intelligent says "Black Hole" is an object like the one depicted above, a stellar body so dense that not even light escapes it.

Not so in Dallas. From the City Hall Blog at the Dallas Morning News:
A special meeting about Dallas County traffic tickets turned tense and bizarre this afternoon.

County commissioners were discussing problems with the central collections office that is used to process traffic ticket payments and handle other paperwork normally done by the JP Courts.

Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield, who is white, said it seemed that central collections "has become a black hole" because paperwork reportedly has become lost in the office.

Commissioner John Wiley Price, who is black, interrupted him with a loud "Excuse me!" He then corrected his colleague, saying the office has become a "white hole."

That prompted Judge Thomas Jones, who is black, to demand an apology from Mayfield for his racially insensitive analogy.

Mayfield shot back that it was a figure of speech and a science term.
Why is it both blacks did not know or understand what a Black Hole actually was?

Commissioner Price went so far as to call the office a "White Hole". Now isn't that just as racially insensitive as Black hole?

Actually, much more so, since Price the was the one who injected race into the conversation, and then referred to the office as a "White Hole". Black Judge Thomas Jones, obviously another racist, should have demanded an apology for Price's racially insensitive analogy when he referred to a "White Hole".

Pure black on white racism... and totally intentional. Fire both of the racist blacks. No free pass due to color.

proof positive that our leaders have lost touch with reality! I've used the same term to describe administrative offices for over 20 years, WOW these guys need to relax.

They are not leaders. They are just pitiful incompetents that somehow managed to get into positions of authority.
