Republican John McCain on Wednesday credited the recent $10-a-barrel drop in the price of oil to President Bush's lifting of a presidential ban on offshore drilling, an action he has been advocating in his presidential campaign.Foot-in-mouth big time.
The reason the cost of oil is dropping is because - nationwide - we are using less, and demand is down. It has nothing to do with Bush lifting his Dad's offshore drilling ban, since the ban dictated by Congress is still in force.
And Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, is still refusing the House an opportunity to vote on the issue. One woman, full of bad ideas, putting the brakes on our entire nations effort to break the foreign oil stranglehold on us.
Even those sunny-day Californians who put her into office should possess enough mental acuity to get rid of her when her time comes.
At least one can hope.
