In a change from the original proposal sent to Capitol Hill, foreign-based banks with big U.S. operations could qualify for the Treasury Department’s mortgage bailout, according to the fine print of an administration statement Saturday night. Now the American taxpayer has been put front and center to bail out any foreign bank that has been completely mismanaged and is failing.
Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson confirmed the change on ABC's "This Week," telling George Stephanopoulos that coverage of foreign-based banks is "a distinction without a difference to the American people."What he meant to say was "A distinction without a difference to the stupid American people."
A difference I can rapidly point out is that the American people are the ones who will foot the bill, the billions and billions and billions being squandered in this supposed effort to protect the average American.
What is it going to take to demonstrate to those stubborn - but non-thinking - Bush supporters that the man has no interest or concern for them whatever? That everything he does - regardless of the rhetoric - is for the entrenched establishment of the "chosen" and the elite?
It's looking like a total meltddown and collapse is the only thing that will wake those people up, and even then, they will still be so uninformed and clueless - so far behind the curve - that they will not be able to prevent the same old gang of criminals from ramping up all over again.
