65 mpg... And You Can't Have One

Ford is building a car that gets 65 mpg that will not be sold in the United states, because Ford believes Americans will not buy a diesel powered car. More to the point, Ford claims they can't afford to sell the car here.

Ford's Fiesta ECOnetic, which gets an astonishing 65 mpg

Ford claims it needs 350 million to build a plant(in Mexico or America) that can produce the diesel engine - currently mostly hand-crafted in Britain and waaay too expensive - that comes with this car... and Ford claims they cannot afford it.

How many things can you count that are wrong - totally upside down - with this story?

Bend over America, Ford and the Europeans/British are getting ready to put it to you, while that idiot Bush and our sold-out Congress do nothing but argue over drilling.
