The orders, which come in response to a highly unusual Sept. 3 ground attack by U.S. commandos, are certain to heighten tensions between Washington and a key ally against terrorism. One must wonder why Washington still considers Pakistan a "key ally", since Osama Bim Laden has found solace and comfort in Pakistan since almost day one.
Suppose Hitler had escaped Germany and settled down in one of America's states. Do you think - that after eight years - Europe would still consider the US as a "key ally"?
Yes. yes... the Pakistanis have nukes. Big deal. We have more, many more, and multiple ways to deliver them - on target - anywhere in the world. A one-toothed dog would have to be really stupid to attack a much larger dog with a full set of nasty dentures.
What so many people fail to understand is that the United States has the biggest stick in the world and has successfully demonstrated it's willingness to swing it.
The time is fast approaching when the Pakistani government must either cough up Osama, or declare war against us. All other options are quickly vanishing.
