WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama named federal appeals judge Sonia Sotomayor as the nation's first Hispanic Supreme Court justice on Tuesday, praising her as "an inspiring woman" with both the intellect and compassion to interpret the Constitution wisely.

Obama said Sotomayor has more experience as a judge than any current member of the high court had when nominated, adding she has earned the "respect of colleagues on the bench," the admiration of lawyers who appear in her court and "the adoration of her clerks."

"The adoration of her clerks". Good grief, that counts as a qualification?

More to the heart of the issue, why am I nervous about an ultra-liberal minority female, one that enjoys and supports groups like "La Raza" and LULAC", being picked for one of the most powerful, permanent and untouchable positions in our government... by yet another ultra- liberal minority with his own not-yet-fully-exposed personal agenda? The guy with a wife that disrepected and despised all things white... Until just a few weeks ago?

I'm just being silly I suppose. Worrying over the endless string of minorities taking over our national and state governments shouldn't bother us at all.

After all, those minorities don't hate us or despise us, they just want the opportunity to get the things we have, and good for them.

Just hope they don't plan on literally taking those things from us - using the power of the courts and the government - rather than earning them.

Don't pay any attention as to how one of our more pampered minorities - the American Indian - got everything they have by using the power of the courts and the government. No comparison there...
