Yawn

More of the same:
Senior al Qaeda leaders have diverted operatives from Iraq across the globe and are increasing preparations to strike the United States, senior intelligence officials told the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence yesterday. They said the terrorists had plans to attack the White House as recently as 2006.
Somebody ought to tell those intelligence whiz kids that this is 2008, and their fear-mongering scare tactics about a plan years old that never materialized is counter-productive.

We have a few Mulsim loonies, hiding away in caves somewhere in the mountains of Afganistan and Pakistan endlessly making plans to attack the entire western world. So what? We will always have tiny little groups of screwballs planning attacks on everything from the Statue of Liberty to Hoover Dam. They will occasionally be successful, since the federal government has no plans to actually go eliminate these guys. That would leave us no enemies to fret over, nothing to keep us all scared with, no boogey man, no justification to spend billions and billions on defense yearly, no reason to occupy foreign nations.

The result of paying way too much attention to the rantings of these war-loving fear-mongers, or as Fred likes to call them, the PTL, the paranoid truculent male, is the totally unconstitutional Patriot Act, and the unfortunate rise of war dogs like McCain, who is energeticly wagging his tail over the prospect of a hundred-year occupation of Iraq.

Speaking of McCain, perhaps his compulsion to endlessly fight the enemy - any enemy - is a result of his possible collaboration with the enemy in viet Nam(mentioned in previous post), to finally prove his loyalty and fealty to America... to himself, if no one else. If so, we certainly don't want him in the White House.

We need to get a grip people - and start thinking for ourselves - instead of following the rantings of a few American style nutcases, and stop acting like well-sedated lemmings headed for the cliff.
