There's an ad on TV right now about an outboard motor that will run for 300 HOURS before any required scheduled maintenance. That's 12 1/2 days, a day being 24 hours long.
Got me to thinking about that sort of thing. You're supposed to change the oil in your car engine every 3,000 miles. How many hours of operation does that represent?
If you drive an average of 50MPH, thats only sixty hours of driving.
At an average of 50MPH, an automobile with a 100,000 mile warranty is warranteed for 2,000 hours. That's only 83.3 twenty-four-hour days.
So... those automobiles we pay tens of thousands of dollars for? Maybe not the great deals we think they are.
