What Oil reserves?

We have been told for years that we have billions of barrels of oil in reserve throughout our oil fields in America, and billions more barrels available for recovery in our shale oil deposits.

I have believed this for years, and have endlessly harped on the idea that we should construct the facilities needed to deliver this oil if and when we needed it. Now we need it, but guess what?

WE DON'T HAVE ANY.

It turns out that the federal government has been selling the mineral rights for our oil and other vital minerals out from under our feet to any foreign investor, foreign government or foreign speculator who has had the ready cash to buy.

We no longer control most of our energy reserves, so if we decided to tap into them, we would get the rude awakening about the fact that we no longer have the rights to do so. Even Russia owns a big chunk of our mineral rights... and our oil reserves.

Turns out that the federal government - in its unqueschable lust for more money - the executive, the congress and the Bureau of Land Management - have literally and factually sold us out. All of us.

Here we are - in a national oil crisis - and you are wondering why the government is sitting on its thumbs? It's because they can't do anything, they are powerless to do anything other than duck the issue, because the sons-of-bitches have sold our rights - and us - down the river.

If that's not reason enough for open revolt against those lying, cheating and thieving bastards inside the beltline, I don't know what is.
