18 Votes

Rio gets the games.

Chicago went out after polling just 18 votes in the first round, despite the eloquent speeches on their behalf made by Obama, the first sitting U.S. president to address an IOC session, and first lady Michelle Obama.

Maybe it was "first lady" Michelle Obama, who made a point of all that "sacrifice" she and Oprah had to make to come over to Copenhagen to talk to those - oh so common - Olympics people.

The overt arrogance of Barak Hussein Obama rubs far too many people - who can and do change the world - the wrong way.

I will bet some serious money that the painfully ignorant talk about "Sacrifice" by Michelle and that incredibly arrogant attitude worn by Barry - like a cloak - is what cost Chicago the games.

You just can't crap in somebodys face and then expect them to give you the brass ring.

I wasn't going to mention this debacle, but the dismal conduct by the painfully inept and amateurish Obamas kept screaming for attention.

Go Team OBAMA!

And keep going... to a galaxy far, far away.

If Barry & Michelle had brought something more to the table than that typical, "social justice", Ah-gatz-mah-rights attitude (like, say, a phat bribe of a few paltry mil like the IOC is used to in such situations) things might have been different...truth came out last time about all that.

At the other end of the political spectrum, the working people of Chicago are probably still exhaling a long sigh of relief for all the overpriced events, local price hikes, overcrowded infrastructure, crime, graft and more tax increases the "prestigious" event usually brings to a host city, that was averted.

White guilt trips and shakedowns only work on this side of the pond!
