Dumping Hollywood villains of the past — drug lords, aliens, North Korean dictators, even the news media — for an environmental bête noire carries risks for studios that don’t mind frightening viewers, as long as it’s all in fun. But it also hints at the possibility of more sophisticated entertainment, and perhaps even the kind of impact that "The China Syndrome" exerted on the nuclear power industry when it came out in 1979.Hollywood is way behind the curve on this. Kiddie cartoon shows on TV have used non-greens as villains for years and years. Anybody who generates power, or uses heavy equipment, or manufactures chemicals, or chops down a tree, or participates in almost any American industry, has been depicted as evil and anti-child by the TV kiddie cartoon industry.
In some of those cartoons, the anti-business hatred is so obvious it will turn your stomach. The faceless creeps who promote this "anti-everything but mother nature stuff" need to be dragged out of their dark little holes where they generate this junk and get their butts severely whipped--as many times as necessary--and then given a new job in a sawmill.
