Bush Goes Fishing

President bush is seeking to reverse an impression of U.S. neglect as he opens a six-day tour of Latin America on Thursday. Bush's trip is intended to promote democracy, to increase trade and cooperation between us and them.

Them, he goes asking , no doubt offering all manner of incentives (our tax dollars, our jobs, our sovreignty), but us?

He just shoves his Corporate-supported policies down our throat, ignoring the best interests of the nation, ignoring the Constitution, ignoring the Congress, ignoring the courts, ignoring the law, ignoring us... Jutting his chin out, just daring somebody to take a poke.

Those folks down there in Mexican/Aztec/Mayan America (no Romans or Italians to speak of there) don't realize how lucky they are... That he's going to negotiate first.

But they need to be careful. If they start disagreeing with his ideas, he just might decide to bomb them into a bright new democracy, and then stock their respective new governments with yes-men.
