President George Bush, while threatening any bill that attempts to corral in his war in Iraq, said that if the troops were put in danger because of a loss of funds, we would "know who to blame".
His speech writers probably figured that at the "know who to blame" point in his little "I'm resolute" act, everybody would automaticly think of the Democrats in Congress.
My first thoughts were not of Congress. My first thoughts were that it was Bush who sent them there in the first place, Bush... who lied about the reasons for this war, Bush... who is keeping them there, Bush... the one who is trying to salvage his legacy with anything that resembles some sort of "mission accomplished" victory.
I blame Bush. The S.O.B. was given given authority to go after the terrorists hiding in Afganistan, authority from a congress that had no idea he would use it to go start another war in Iraq, a nation that--to this very day--has shown no connection whatever to the 911 attack, or any support of the terrorists involved.
Bush already has his legacy, one that will guarantee the end of the Bush dynasty. Let's not lose any more troops or money in a futile attempt to change it.
