President Authorized Leak

It now appears that George himself "declassified" and authorized the "leak" of the NIA (National Intelligence assessment) information that former aid Libby is being raked across the coals for.

Wise-sounding pundits are saying the President broke no laws in the process. Both the president and vice-president have the legal authority to do exactly that.

My point?

Remember how Bush was all incensed about leaks? How angry he appeared and how he was going to fire whoever was responsible? How he portrayed on national TV that he and his white house were the victims of unspeakable chicanery* in this matter?

Well now. Turns out he was the very one who declassifed the information and authorized its release, so he knew all along who the guilty party was... and is.

At the very least, this is blatant dishonesty from a man who won the presidency on his now tarnished appearance of supposed honesty and openness.

*chicanery
(noun) 1 : deception by artful subterfuge or sophistry : TRICKERY ; 2 : a piece of sharp practice (as at law) : TRICK
No connection to the term

Chicano
(noun) : an American of Mexican descent
These are people who have been victimizing the Bush white house in an entirely different manner.
