An Unanticipated Consequence Of The Obama Presidency
According to the FBI, over 1.5 million background checks on customers were requested by gun dealers to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System in December. Nearly 500,000 of those were in the six days before Christmas.
It was the highest number ever in a single month, surpassing the previous record set in November.
Check out the newspaper that reported this... An offshore one.

That number has been steadily rising since 2009 and spiked these holidays past.
You see, the problem with the commonly-held belief that the military will not allow an oppressive regime to establish an absolute tyranny over America lies in the things it overlooks:
1. Foreigners can join, and have been encouraged and actively recruited into the armed forces. Hell, why do you think illegals can get out of INS custody with a phone call? Dictators don't care who makes up their thug squads, as long as they do what they are told, and quite often cull the dregs of society for their goons.
2. That regime would also be the one paying their wages.
It's an idea as brain-dead ignorant as the conservative boomer mantra of the ages: "it'll never happen here", and just as historically illiterate...
I'm quite sure the Germans, Chinese and Burmese who woke up prisoners and slaves in their own countries bought that fifth-column line of crap, too.
People are waking up, better late than never.
