What's In A Name?

More sexual assault:

Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, announced today that it filed a lawsuit on March 7, 2011, against Florida Democrat Congressman Alcee Hastings on behalf of a female employee who was repeatedly subjected to “unwelcome sexual advances,” “unwelcome touching” and retaliation. The alleged harassment and retaliation began in 2008, when Hastings was Chairman of the United States Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe. The Commission is also named as a defendant in the lawsuit. Also named is the Commission’s former staff director, Fred Turner. Judicial Watch filed the lawsuit on behalf of Commission employee Winsome Packer (Packer v. US Comm. On Security & Cooperation in Europe, and Hastings and Turner (CV No. 11-00485 D.D.C.))

You gotta be kidding.

Remember, this is the congressman who once said "There are no rules here, we make them up as we go".

If I had a frame of mind like this guy and a potential employee that called themselves "Winsone Packer" came a-knocking, I would naturally assume that the most likely made-up name was intended to convey intent.

They they are... Mr. Cop-a-feel and his winsome Winsome.

From Webster's Seventh:

win-some \'win(t)-sem)1: causing joy or pleasure 2: CHEERFUL, GAY -

Winsome Packer?

That's her duly registered birth name? Strippers that gyrate on brass poles in sex clubs have monikers like that, not dedicated, hard working office workers.

If it really is her true given name, her parents need their heads examined, unless - of course - their intent was to help their daughter climb up the social/professional ladder by insinuating sexual proclivity.

BUT... If she intentionally changed her name to what it is today, her motis operandi becomes obvious, and anyone who hires her is just begging for a sexual harassment lawsuit.

It's a pretty common Jamaican name.

She was born in Jamaica.
