I kid you not:
In the last few days, Obama administration officials have frequently faced the question: Is the fighting in Libya a war? From military officers to White House spokesmen up to the president himself, the answer is no. But that leaves the question: What is it?
In a briefing on board Air Force One Wednesday, deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes took a crack at an answer. "I think what we are doing is enforcing a resolution that has a very clear set of goals, which is protecting the Libyan people, averting a humanitarian crisis, and setting up a no-fly zone," Rhodes said. "Obviously that involves kinetic military action, particularly on the front end."
Give the man a big raise... He just gave the prez a fine-sounding bit of blather to explain what we're doing in Libya.
No doubt most Americans will buy into this world-class bit of verbal nonsense because now it's not war, bro, it's "kinetic action". And we all learned about kinetic action in high school, right?
Cool.
I'm so glad we didn't start another war. I am pleased as can be that out intellectual elite explained it to me in a way I can understand.
Thanks to deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes, I realize now that sending cruise missiles into non-organic places like radar sites and airports is actually protecting the Libyan people(except for those Libyans stupid enough to work at radar sites and airports).
Thanks to deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes, I realize now that dropping bombs on things like buildings and bridges is actually averting a humanitarian crisis.(people in those buildings and the ones going across those bridges are just collateral damage - a teeny percentage of unfortunates in the right place at the wrong time)
Thanks to deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes, I now realize that our jets strafing those itty-bitty subhumans running around on the ground when we are not at war is not really a war crime - nosireee - it's merely the process of setting up a no-fly zone.(After all, they're not really human beings, they're just little moving specks down there)
Yessir.
As our beloved President continues leading us into the New World Order - the one where we will all be made to realize that we are actually too stupid to handle our own affairs, the one where a few incredibly rich and powerful self-appointed godlike elites will determine our every thought and movement, the one where our children will have zero chances to prosper - that New World Order, I am pleased to report that people like Saul Allinsky and Francis Scott Piven are right: Freedom is a illusion, an aberration, that human bondage is the historical norm.
So sit down and shut up, you nothing little speck, the beautiful people have spoken.
