The European Commission on Monday unveiled a "single European transport area" aimed at enforcing "a profound shift in transport patterns for passengers" by 2050.
The plan also envisages an end to cheap holiday flights from Britain to southern Europe with a target that over 50 per cent of all journeys above 186 miles should be by rail.
Top of the EU's list to cut climate change emissions is a target of "zero" for the number of petrol and diesel-driven cars and lorries in the EU's future cities.
Target = zero.
Zero gasoline and Diesel vehicles in any city anywhere in Europe.
Not mentioned in the article is the intention of the Obots and the Hillbians for America to be a part of this Brussels controlled "Union" by or before 2050, meaning there would be no cars, trucks or motorcycles allowed in any U.S. city. Nothing but pedestrians, bicycles and a few streetcars(no buses, they use gas or diesel).
And no airplane rides over - what was it? - 186 miles. You get to take the train.
What train?
You think we will have built a rail system capable of replacing all of our cars, trucks, taxicabs, airports, airlines and airplanes by 2050? HA. The federal government, the States and the cities are all on the verge of bankruptsy. Where would they get the money to build such a rail system? How long would it take?
Keep in mind that San Francisco's highly successful BART system took years and years to build and cost billions, had billions in overruns, took far longer to contruct than even the most pessimistic estimate, and serves only a small percentage of tha area's commuters. And that is for just one metropolitan area.
If they want us all to take the damned train, they'd better build the rail system first, or everything will come to a screeching halt overnight.
Just think of the ensuing chaos.
Now is the time to put a stop to all this lunacy... Before these nutjobs actually get the power to act on their ghoulish dreams.
Remember, it's not about serving the public good, never has been.
It's all about power... And control.
