California Bureaucrats

The California Department of Health Care Services said Monday it has breached the privacy of 49,352 people who receive adult day-care services from the state.

The department said that letters it mailed a week ago to 49,352 Medi-Cal beneficiaries wrongly included each patient's Social Security number on their address labels.

Said Department of Health Care Services Director David Maxwell-Jolly:
We regret this error. We will redouble our efforts to ensure that all beneficiary information entrusted to the state is aggressively and appropriately protected.
Oh hell no... They have already failed to "appropriately protect" the information.

Don't play this game they want to play... Of promised future accountability, that it was just an oversight or an error, that they'll do better tomorrow. They have already proven their inability to do the job.

Fire the idiots that did this. Fire their bosses that failed miserably in their watchdog positions of management. They are either too stupid to know how to do their job, or they don't give a damn about the damage they may cause with their carelessness, or they are not capable of doing the job.

Whatever the reason, get rid of them.. They don't belong where they are.

It's not a case where somebody left the barn door open and all the horses got out and were eventually recovered. This information is out there now - forever. There is no returning of this information to the safety of the "barn", no matter how hard they try to "redouble their efforts".

Redoubled failure is still failure.

Fire the bums.
