Like Rats In A Trap

For those of you who are not up to speed on the Persian Gulf situation...

Bush has ordered two carrier battle groups into the Persian Gulf in a muscle-flexing exercise designed to frighten Iran.

Take a look at a world map and see how small and narrow this place is. A carrier battle group has effectively no room to manuever. On the open ocean, a carrier battle group can be 700-800 miles distant in one day in any direction. Not so in the Persian Gulf. There is no place our ships can go to be beyond Iranian radar, or the Iranian airforce, or the Iranian navy, or the Iranian missile forces.

Something you may not yet realize... Iran has surface to ship missiles, air to sea missiles and ship to ship missiles, most of which cannot be destroyed or intercepted. Iran also has a fleet of high speed torpedo boats, sea mines and a few conventional submarines.Worst news of all for the US is that the Iranians have a suicidal Jihadist, or in navy speak, a Kamikaze heart, and the suicide bomber approach would be what to expect.

If Bush--in his simpleminded foolishness--attacks Iran, we may lose two of our largest and finest aircraft carriers, manned by almost 12,000 personnel.

The price we Americans are paying for this war may be about to jump disasterously.
