Feed It To The Hogs

Can you believe this?
By Diedtra Henderson, Globe Staff | April 20, 2007

WASHINGTON — Hogs fed pet food rejected as unsuitable for sale ended up eating a product laced with an industrial chemical, federal authorities said yesterday, expanding a food safety investigation that had been primarily focused on cats and dogs.
The food that was killing cats and dogs was pulled from the shelves in stores everywhere. We all know that. What we haven't been told is that this stuff has been sent to hog farms to feed hogs, farms that no doubt provide the ham and bacon on our tables across the country.

I'll bet you thought they were going to properly dispose of all that poisoned pet food in some safe and acceptable manner. Silly you.

Somebody needs to check if any of this poison laced pet food is ending up at cattle feed lots and the poultry farms. I would not be surprised if it was.
Stephen F. Sundlof, director of the Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Veterinary Medicine, said the FDA will work with the United States Department of Agriculture ‘‘to determine whether or not those animals can go into the food supply.
Would that be the same people that allowed the pet food to be fed to the hogs in the first place?

Everybody who thinks we should trust their decision raise your hands now.
