Your point may be valid, but is not made using this example. In this case, I see an administration official electing to not participate in their own show trial.

If you ask enough questions under oath, eventually you will get two statements that are inconsistent. Then you run to trial with a hand picked jury of Bush haters and a charge of obstruction or perjury.
It is all very partisan. I can't understand why any official would submit to it.
