5,000 Illiterate Peasants

Douglas Bruce, R-Colorado Springs, puts it on the line:
I would like to have the opportunity to state at the microphone why I don't think we need 5,000 more illiterate peasants in Colorado.
"How dare you!" snapped Democratic Rep. Kathleen Curry, who as debate chairwoman ended Bruce's privilege to speak.

Legislative leaders are deciding what to do next. They could open a formal ethics complaint and hearing, which could lead to suspension, censure or expulsion.

Bruce defended his remarks afterward:
I looked up 'illiterate' in the dictionary and it means somebody who is lacking in formal education or is unable to read and write. I don't think these people who are planning to come over here and pick potatoes or peaches are likely to have much of a formal education. I looked up the word 'peasant.' The word 'peasant' means a person who works in agricultural fields.

These people, most of them, don't speak English. Most of them haven't had any formal education, that's why they're coming over here. I don't blame them for trying, but I don't think we should pave the way for more aliens to come here.
A man has the balls to call a spade a spade and some broad has a hissy fit.

And now an out-of-touch but very PC batch of "leaders" are considering his suspension, censure or expulsion.

"How dare you" says this idiot female who seems to think Colorado is just the place for 5,000 more welfare and medicare leeches. Well, he dares because he wants the truth to be known.

As for me, I'd vote for Bruce for any office he runs for. A bit of reality is in order.

Here we have the perfect example of how bigots who proclaim that they are only against "ILLEGAL" immigration and not the LEGAL kind are so full of feces they would lose half their body weight if they gave themselves an enema. Here is an opportunity to bring in LEGAL immigrants and the xenophobes still get their panties in a bunch because it is the ethnicity of these immigrants that they hate, not their legal status.

Well, you gotta admit that when we already have somewhere between 12 and 20 million of these "ILLEGAL" immigrants to contend with, maybe a lot of Americans have figured out that's more than enough of that particular ethnic group, legal or not.

Let me tell you something. I was raised in Santa fe, New Mexico, a place that was over 80% Mexican. But they were AMERICANS of Mexican heritage. They were as concerned about these illegals, these "La Razas", these "Brown Berets", these "LULACs" as any American anglo.
It is only the last two generations of these "neo-Latinos" that have decided to hate America and - for whatever dumbass reason - want to become a part of one of the most poverty-stricken nations on earth.
