Totally Nuts

MOSCOW, July 14 — President Vladimir V. Putin formally notified NATO governments on Saturday that Russia will suspend its obligations under the Conventional Forces in Europe Treaty, a key Cold War-era arms limitation agreement, in response to American plans to deploy a missile shield in Eastern Europe.
Not exactly... it's in response to Bush's pulling out of the Antiballistic Missile Treaty so he could pursue his goal of a Eastern Europe antimissile shield. It wasn't Congress that pulled out, it wasn't America that pulled out, it was Bush, all by himself.

The ABM treaty took years to craft and resulted in the elimination of massive amounts of offensive weapons on both sides. Now Bush is destroying all that in order to install a ballistic missile shield over Eastern Europe, one that has yet to be proven as even marginally workable.

Eastern Europe?

Two questions... who the hell is he supposedly wanting to protect in Eastern Europe, and even more to the point, who from?

I find it beyond reason that Bush is destroying a major treaty between two superpowers, both armed with thousands of nuclear weapons and re-starting up the Cold War, in what is actually a really bad idea attempt to protect Israel (them again) from a theoretical missile attack by Iran, someday/sometime in the far off future... by a missile force Iran doesn't now have, supposedly tipped by nuclear weapons they don't now have and most likely never will.

The real ABM threat has always been between the United States and Russia. So is this Eastern Europe missile shield going to protect us from the Russians? No. For the United States, all this Eastern Europe missile shield accomplishes is the loss of years of effort to create a safer world by much saner and wiser men than Bush and his collection of criminals in the White House.

Like I said, it's all totally nuts. This basket case of a president has a great potential cause us all irreparably great harm if he is allowed to run rampant through the White House for the next year and a half.

Far better we quietly send him out to pasture - along with shotgun Cheney - to that little Texas ranchito he likes to swagger and strut around on so much.

After that, we go get Wolfowitz, Pearl, Rice, the whole gang of neocon nimrods that got us into this horrid mess in the first place.
