NEW YORK (Reuters) - The United States scrapped on Friday a key test of an emerging missile-defense shield after a dummy missile that was to have been the system's target went astray over the Pacific. What's the matter with these clowns? We've been firing rockets for almost fifty years and this latest batch of rocketeers can't even get a dummy target missile off the ground. All it had to do was go ballistic and be a target. An Iraqi scud would have done better, for cripes sake.
We used to blow them up on a regular basis back in the sixties and seventies when everything was new and untested. But these guys have fifty years of knowledge and past experience to help get things right.... and they still screw up... Over and over and over.
Maybe they are busily re-designing the wheel, studiously ignoring any past knowledge as old or obsolete.
Or, maybe--as one might easily suspect--they really are a bunch of incompetent second-stringers, proudly waving their worthless sheepskins from today's worthless colleges.
