Looking at the very latest numbers tonight, just a few hours before the polls open, it looks like McCain may pull this one out, with a lot of help from Obama and his habit of saying whatever the group he is talking to wants to hear.
Obama's comment to a gaggle of California greens about taxing coal-fired power plants into bankruptcy may just be the feather that broke the camels back.
Maybe, maybe not.
Regardless of the outcome, tomorrow evenings TV watch will be most interesting. I think I'll even go get a sixpac of suds and a sack of chips to keep the evening properly fueled and lubricated.
