Not For Me

Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum has stated:

"Satan has his sights on the United States of America!

Satan is attacking the great institutions of America, using those great vices of pride, vanity, and sensuality as the root to attack all of the strong plants that has so deeply rooted in the American tradition."

Now I don't know about you - but I'm not interested in having a president who believes that Satan is attacking America. That's nothing more than religious fear-mongering, pious babble and a good indication he may be susceptible to believing that God may - one day - order him open up the old nuclear football and launch all the missiles at those evil devil-ridden nations.

Having a basically religious man as president is one thing. It demonstrates at the very least, some sort of moral and ethical foundation. Having a religious fanatic in charge who has visions of devils and demons everywhere is quite another.

Santorum is not what he appears to be. He is a big-spending Progressive. Look at his voting record. The Democrats in Congress like him much more than the Republicians do.

That ought to tell you something.

I like Ron Paul, he may not win, but that's who I'm voting for.

I wouldn't vote for Santorum for a lot of the reasons that you pointed out plus I just get a bad feeling about him. I think he's hiding something.

I'll vote for Paul, win-lose-draw.

This country needs another bead-fingering, idol & dead-motherfucker-worshipping idiot with absolute power like a nuclear sub needs a screen door - NO THANKS!

But but but....

If a nuclear sub is based in the Amazon Rain forest up a river where the water is too shallow to dive and the air conditioning system conks out and the inside the sub gets too hot for the crew to sleep nights and the jungle is full of Malaria carrying misquitos and they have to open the subs hatches for fresh air because the cook burnt dinner and filled the sub up with smoke on top of the fact that some of the crew members smell funny in enclosed spaces...

Wouldn't the sub need a screen door?

Rick Santorum is playing the old bullshit-issue-politics Straitvarius to his fellow mackerel-snappers, hoping the translators will bring in his illegal Papist hermanos, and angling for the funny-mental-ist deadfish of the Jerry FAKEwell bent to boot. As you alluded in the post, it's pulp fiction: like the rest of the Establishment "front runners", he is phony, but the kind of phony the GOP will nominate if they are playing to lose.
