Bear Chow

The woman who jumped into that polar bear enclosure may have been attempting suicide by bear.

According to the article, she was depressed over not being able to find a job.

Graphic lesson here... People who have never felt any real pain their entire lives really need to re-consider what a slow, painful death would be like... the first bite by those bears shocked this woman back to reality.

What a way to learn that there is pain far and above such as that experienced by cramps, hitting your thumb with a hammer, slicing your finger with a paring knife, an ant bite or a hornet sting.

A caution... Foolish people who invite themselves to a bear dinner table are - to the bears - just another side dish.

Real bears are not like the comical bears in a Disney Cartoon. They are not our friends, they are not our allies, they are not our pets. What they are is animals that will kill and eat us if we get close enough to let them.

Anyone who believes otherwise is not very well grounded in reality, and very dead people like Timothy Treadwell and his girlfriend are classic examples of this problem.

Our forefathers saw the wisdom behind eliminating these animals from our forests and parks, and for awhile, Americans could go camping without the danger of wild animal attack, or having a child dragged off and killed. Not so anymore. These truly dangerous animals have been successfully re-introduced back into our environments, so now we have an endless string of animal attacks being reported from just about everywhere, even in our cities and backyards.

True, this mind-numbingly stupid woman jumped into that polar bear compound, but the incident does shine some light on the growing threat of these animals to anyone wanting to take a walk in the park.

If you followed the "child dragged off and killed" link, you may have noticed the sign "Utah is Black Bear Country". If that's their claim to fame, they need some serious help, and maybe some lessons about the food chain.
