Roosevelt would have scorned the idiotic idea of a dual citizenship. However, for non-Americans claiming the birthright, heritage, language and culture of a foreign State realize that adding "American" to African, or Mexican, or Jewish, or whatever, presently gives them all the benefits that true Americans have worked for and enjoy, without all the responsibilities or obligations required.
If America is to survive, we need to understand what Roosevelt was talking about. Or, as Trump keeps saying... "America First".
