Reality rearing its ugly head:
From the article:
"With colleges producing more graduates, and youth unemployment at a sky-high 11.5 percent, even landing a job selling Big Macs is getting competitive.
Consider: A job opening at a Massachusetts McDonald's for a full-time cashier requires one to two years experience and a bachelor's degree."

Total Bull. It has nothing to do with "competition" but everything to do employees that can actually do the job.
We've known for years that the vast majority high school graduates can't do math, read, or fill out a job application, and that's been the pool of labor McDonald's has been getting it's workforce from.
It now appears that even McDonald's has finally giving up on this ignorant mass of unskilled idiots and turned to the hallowed halls of higher education to find workers.
However, I'm positive that McDonald bigwigs know that hiring college grads for any position is counterproductive(pun intended) because they will spend their waking hours looking for better work, and will be gone the instant something better shows up.
BUT... and it's a big but... MacDonald's is finding out that it takes a college degree with maybe two years experience to run a cash register, because someone with a degree and just one year of experience may not yet have mastered reading and math.
That's how bad the liberals and socialists have ruined our education system.
It's now to the point that even a college degree may not be enough to get a job where once upon a time a clown was one of the higher paid employees, a place where the cash registers have pictures of their products instead of words and numbers.
About all we can do nowadays is shake our heads and walk away.
