CNSNews.com) – The Social Security Administration posted a blog on Thursday to explain why it was planning to purchase 174,000 .357 Sig 125 grain bonded jacketed hollow point pistol ammunition.

The SSA’s Office of the Inspector General’s said that the SSA has 295 special agents who work in 66 offices across the United States, an average of four agents per office.
Since the SSA is an administrative branch of the government, not an enforcement one, why does it have 295 special agents, armed with .357 magnum pistols? Hollow point ammunition is outlawed by the United States Government and International bodies on any battlefield because it maims the victim and blows massive holes out of their bodies, taking many internal organs with it. Few, if any, who are shot anywhere in the trunk of the body with a .357 hollow point will survive.
Why would the SSA need this kind of ammunition? An ammunition designed to be used only against human targets? Do they plan on maiming and killing citizens?

According to the SSA Organizational Manual, Subchapter 8, their mission is:

It administers the Federal retirement, survivors and disability insurance programs, as well as the program of supplemental security income (SSI) for the aged, blind and disabled, and performs certain functions with respect to the black lung benefits program. SSA also directs the aid to the aged, blind and disabled in Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
Nothing in there about enforcement, so it seems that the SSA has hired armed guards for each of its offices, apparently because they are paranoid and scared of old people in their walkers and wheel chairs who might be storming their offices one fine day.
Want to save a tiny bit of money on the massive federal budget? Get rid of those 295 private guards. they are not authorized under the SSA charter and have been most likely illegally hired.
