Grandma In The Crosshairs

Dangerous American Grandmas in foreground, even more dangerous riot police in background.

Full dress police state:

When hundreds of tea-party protesters – including many elderly women – gathered outside a civic center where President Obama was giving a public speech Wednesday, they were surprised to be greeted by police dispatched in full riot gear.

Obama spoke in Quincy, Ill., at the Oakley Lindsay Civic Center. The event was open to the public, and about 2,000 tickets were distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Snipers were also spotted on the rooftop of the building.

Would these guys would shoot your Grandma in a peaceful protest if ordered? If so, preventive measures should be considered.

SWAT Teams... Of Course!

The perfect choice to examine safety features of oil rigs.

Mr. Obama said SWAT teams were being dispatched to the Gulf to investigate oil rigs and said his administration is now working to determine the cause of the disaster.

Exactly what am I missing here?

How can the training of a SWAT team be considered the best way to determine the safety features of an oil rig?

Send in the troops! And the waterboards! They'll get the answers Obama wants!

All those combat boots thumping away on those steel oil rig decks will sound soooo cool.

PS:
The bit about Obama and the SWAT teams is WAY down near the bottom of the article.

Mexican Law

Mexico has a pretty clear policy on illegals:

At present, Article 67 of Mexico's Population Law says, "Authorities, whether federal, state or municipal ... are required to demand that foreigners prove their legal presence in the country, before attending to any issues."

Seems Arizona is actually requiring less with it's new law. Yes, they intend to deport illegals, but will still attend to issues such as needed medical help.

So all those protesters (mostly misguided Mexicans, aging hippies and mush-brained college puppets) should be protesting Mexico's laws... they're tougher than Arizona's, and a lot less humane.

Consider: Mexico is not mistreating Mexican illegals, they are mistreating South American illegals passing through Mexico trying to get here.

These protesters waving all those Spanish signs and Mexican flags that do not like our immigration laws most likely realize that, so it looks like a huge double standard to me.

They are protesting Arizona's right to conduct proper and legal treatment of criminals. Yes, they are criminals. By crossing our borders illegally, they break the law. That's what we all call lawbreakers... Criminals.

They are the real racists here. They don't give a damn about Mexico's mistreatment of Bolivians, Costa Ricans and the like, just Arizona's supposed mistreatment of their cousins.

Just ignore them. They are clueless when it comes to right and wrong.

The Viirtual Fence Goes Airborne

What a joke:

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told a Senate hearing Tuesday that unmanned aerial drones will soon fly through Texas skies!

The new "predator bees" have the capability to fly at altitudes used by commercial aircraft, and are designed to enhance intelligence capabilities of federal, state and local law enforcement.

Like I said...what a joke. But it's not funny at all. It's just another bandaid on a gushing wound.

The drones, without any missiles and the like, will be just another TV camera along the border, and will be about as effective as all those cameras on the failed "Virtual Fence". The drone operators will be able to see illegals crossing our border all over the place, but - just like on the virtual fence - by the time somebody is notified as to where and when and actually sends someone to the spot, the lawbreakers will be safely across and will have vanished into the Mexican boroughs found in every border city.

Waste of time, waste of money, waste of resources.

But it will continue to allow millions of future voters (after amnesty) to get situated and settled. It's all politics, nothing more.

Nowadays, what else can we expect from Washington?

There's Gonna Be Copycats...

An Israeli man has been imprisoned for 10 years for tricking women into sexual acts by claiming his semen was holy and had healing powers.

Nissim Aharon, a former employee at the Israeli defence ministry, was convicted of rape, sodomy, indecent acts and aggravated fraudulent acquisition.

Women paid him large sums of money, believing he was a holy rabbi who could heal body and soul, the court said.

You just know that once a scam like this is exposed, there's always a few who think it's a real win situation and go for the gold.

Too Good To Pass Up...

Toilet Paper Bandit Sought:

A man who wrapped his head in toilet paper was caught on surveillance video as he calmly pulled off the knifepoint robbery of a Nebraska convenience store Saturday night.

Must'a been a real sh*thead.

Yessir... Good Times Just Around The Corner

A tent city appears for one elevator job in New york:

Desperate times call for desperate measures – even if it means camping out in the rain for a chance at a job application.

Hundreds of job-seekers did just that in Queens in the hopes of landing a coveted union job.

Construction workers, engineers, electricians -- hundreds spent the weekend right here. Many left with a job application, while many others walked away empty-handed.

Why do we see stuff like this... If the recovery is in full swing?

But The Water Is Safe

Give me a break:

Mexican President Felipe Calderon said April 26 that his country’s citizens are “angered and saddened” by the Arizona law, which he said “doesn’t adequately guarantee respect for people’s fundamental rights.”

How about the citizens of Arizona and their fundamental rights?

I'll bet some serious money that the vast majority of those protesters in Arizona right now are Mexicans. Mexicans who do not want to be Arizona citizens or United States citizens. Mexicans who do not want to learn English. Mexicans who want places like Arizona, New Mexico, California, half of Texas and Colorado to secede from our union and become part of the great failed nation of Mexico.

What idiots like Obama can't seem to grasp is that all these millions of illegals in the United States have no desire to become citizens. None. Zero. Zilch. They just want our jobs so they can send money back home... to Mexico.

So what does this Mexican presidente say to the fact that a half-million illegals in Arizona are stealing the jobs, the social security numbers, the identities of Arizonians? Isn't protecting your identity a fundamental right? What does he say to the fact that 17% of all violent crime in Arizona is committed by illegals?

I lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico for thirty years and watched as the local Mexican community became more and more pro-Mexican and anti-American... To the point that we finally moved away. The feather that broke the camel's back was when the local elementary school's Principal notified us that our son would have to learn Spanish to come to school, since all his classes were going to be taught in Spanish. This is the unvarnished truth.

I can only imagine it must be toxic for a white American there now, since New Mexico has always been well ahead of Arizona.. When it comes to being Mexicanized.

And by the way...

I don't give a tinkers damn what Mexican President Felipe Calderon thinks about us or our laws.

The Real Enemy... White Males

Obama speaks with unusual demographic frankness about his coalition in his appeal to "young people, African-Americans, Latinos, and women who powered our victory in 2008 [to] stand together once again."

Young people........ Inexperienced and pliable neophytes
African Americans... Actually American-born blacks
Latinos............ Mexicans, including 12-20 million illegals
Women............... Lesbians, pants-wearing careerists, white male haters, and the hordes of the "He's so cute" kind

Obvious by their omission... White males.

Think he's not a racist? Just keep watching what's happening to the white males of America. If you are a white male, better get ready for a truckload of grief, a governmentally created and introduced endless stream of smackdown and oppression.

Power to the people dude... So long a white males are relegated to the bottom of the pile.

John McCain Is Not Your friend

United States Senators(believe it or not) John McCain and Joe Lieberman have introduced a bill that allows the military to round up and detain - on military bases - suspected belligerents.

According to the summary, the bill sets out a comprehensive policy for the detention, interrogation and trial of suspected enemy belligerents who are believed to have engaged in hostilities against the United States by requiring these individuals to be held in military custody, interrogated for their intelligence value and not provided with a Miranda warning.

The bill makes no distinction between citizens and non-citizens or where they were apprehended, whether it be Dallas or Saigon.

When two American Senators can introduce a bill that deprives American citizens of their rights, sequesters them away on military bases, detains them indefinitely, and uses the military to interrogate them without any consideration for due process, we must wonder how far we have gone down the road to dictatorial slavery.

Neither McCain nor Lieberman are stupid. They know the powers this bill will hand over to the government, the rights this bill will take away from every American citizen worldwide.

This should be a clear indication to us all that our Republic is near its end, that the "American experiment" is just about finished, done in by dedicated Progressives and Socialists like these two anti-American traitors.

The Lecturing Spinner

Unbelievable:

President Barack Obama called anew for overhauling the nation’s immigration laws, saying a failure to do so will lead to “misguided” efforts such as legislation passed in Arizona.
“Our failure to act responsibly at the federal level will only open the door to irresponsibility by others,” Obama said at a Rose Garden naturalization ceremony for 24 members of the U.S. military. “That includes, for example, the recent efforts in Arizona.”

This finger-wagging narcissist has the gall to claim that the federal government's failure to act responsibility will result in others acting likewise.

I don't know about you, but I'm getting real tired of this guy constantly wagging that damn finger in from of us... Like some affirmative action school teacher does to a classroom full of dumbed-down kids.

“misguided” efforts. That cheezy comment is particularly galling, since Obama's health care plan is the most misguided effort in America's history, a disastrous truth we are discovering more and more every day.

Bloomberg says in the indicated thread:

The state legislature passed a bill that would make it a state crime to be in the U.S. illegally and require local police to determine the immigration status of anyone an officer suspects of being in the country without proper documentation.

I do believe that is wrong.

Arizona's law states that it is a crime to be in Arizona illegally, not the entire United States.

Arizona is a sovereign state, just like the other 49. If they wish to pass such a bill, they have every right to do so, whether Obama likes it or not.

I'm fairly certain that Arizonans don't give a damn how many illegals are screwing up California or New York.

Good for them.

Street Legal

Wander over to Leslie's Omnibus to see the latest craze in private transportation, street legal bumper cars:

Are you getting to an age where you wonder if your driving skills are as sharp as they should be, or have a parent that you worry about every time he/she gets behind the wheel? This... might be just the ticket for you.

Try that on the freeway... At legal speed.

Got this jewel over at Desert Cat's Paradise.

You Can Speed, But You Can't Hide

Big Brother goes into orbit...

A new type of speed camera which can use satellites to measure average speed over long distances is being tested in Britain.

The cameras, which combine number plate reading technology with a global positioning satellite receiver, are similar to those used in roadworks. The AA said it believed the new system could cover a network of streets as opposed to a straight line, and was “probably geared up to zones in residential areas."

One must wonder how many hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars the government is willing to spend on orbital speed traps... Just to catch you running a stop sign or pushing the speed limit.

Venturing Out Of The Bubble

Our presidents and politicians have - for many years - made a point of making appearances only in places where they are guaranteed a warm welcome and much applause. This is partially a result of TV coverage that shows every little detail of a politicians public outings, good or bad, and the deep desire of politicians not to have to face the music.

Obama is no exception to this, but his world-class ego has expanded to the point that he is starting to ignore this political strategy, believing that wherever he goes, he will be met with adoration and love.

Tain't necessarily so.

His latest foray into his loving public was to support Progressive Socialist Barbara Boxer (who is in serious re-election trouble) and resulted in his being booed at and shouted down, a most refreshing change to the usual appearance of the staged love and devotion we have been exposed to by his carefully selected adoring crowds to pontificate in front of, and a pliant media.

However, as his polls continue to tank due to his horrid policies, this will happen more and more. Boos, catcalls, and yelling, being shouted down and silenced.

He did not like it at all, and showed it. His inability to hide his contempt, disgust and anger with anyone who disagrees with him will be his undoing.

As a result, his public appearances will become less and less public and more and more in front of hand-picked crowds that will cheer and applaud on cue as required. These audiences will become darker and darker, the chants will become more ebonic in nature, and the press will be absent far more often.

The day may actually come when we aren't tortured with his daily delivery of lies and misinformation on our TV's, a day when we can watch whatever it is we watch without those blond bimbos and sadly comical anchors interrupting us all with yet another rambling lecture from this failing parody of a man who would be King.

Living In Fear

When Nancy Pelosi showed up for a private dinner in Palm Beach, the Speaker of the House walked into the home of businessman and Democratic moneyman George Cloutier with a security detail 12 strong, mostly US Capitol Police.

There were four additional Palm Beach cops, two sheriff’s deputies, and two police boats in the Atlantic Ocean across the street from Cloutier’s house.

It has been often asked how this woman sleeps at night.

Apparently, not very well.

She may believe that every noise in the night could mean the approach of an assassin, a murderer, a cold-blooded killer. But not a rapist... no way.

Shivers

This is the incredible face of the Eyjafjallajökull Volcano, the one that has fouled up the European air traffic with its ash plume. It was created with smoke and cloud-piercing airborne radar.

It's actually the three main craters of this volcano, but from a perspective we seldom see.

Ipod Takes Out Nuclear Sub

The USS Hartford, SSN768, rammed the transport ship USS New Orleans in the Strait of Hormuz recently.

A report on the incident reported that the navigator was listening to his iPod in his cabin while revising for an exam at the time.

These three photos from the USNI (US Naval Institute) show the estimated $60 million damage the submarine sustained.

Captain Commander Ryan Brookhart was relieved of his duties after the investigation revealed nearly ’30 tactical and watchstander errors’ which led to the ‘avoidable accident’.

I can remember the day when we weren't even allowed to own a camera because we might try to take a photo of something classified.

With the kind of devotion to duty these submariners demonstrated, maybe they should not be allowed to have in their possession any kind of personal entertainment device while on patrol.

Why They Hate Us

Wikileaks has posted a decrypted military video showing the attack on unarmed civilians, including photographers for the Reuters News organization.

The Freedom of Information Act was invoked to obtain this video.

Watch the short version first... If you still have the stomach, then look at the longer version.

If you watch closely, you will reach the conclusion that these people were shot down based on the word of one man in a distant helicopter on the radio, who claimed they had RPG's and AK-47's.

Can you see any weapons in this video? Good enough to testify in court? Good enough to deliver a death sentence for all those people casually - and openly - walking in their neighborhood street??

Can you definitely state that the guy looking around the corner of that building - the guy holding that looks like he's holding a straight black something - Can you positively identify that as an RPG? Positively enough to kill him and the men around him?

I can't.

Maybe it was the other Reuters photographer holding a camera with a telephoto lens?

Maybe that guy was holding an RPG, but the military who arrived on the scene refuse to say. There are no photos, no testimony being offered as proof. The rest of the dead had no visible weapons, no AK-47's. They were carrying nothing.

And the two kids sitting in the front seat of the van? Shot by soldiers whose only defense is that the victims shouldn't have brought their kids into a battle? These shooters are sick men.

No wonder they want to kill us all. To them, we are nothing but murdering animals.

It's time - way past time - to get out. It is obvious from this video that this war is dehumanizing our military, creating soldiers that will murder indiscriminately... And then laugh about it, just as the video shows.

All we are doing is generating more hate, more death, creating more terrorists who will try to kill us... Anywhere in the world and at any time they find us exposed.

Prime Directive? What's That?

Here's another tidbit showing us all that NASA is hardly more than a dying ember:

This week NASA will attempt to launch three women to the International Space Station, where they will join another female who is already circling earth in a Russian capsule.

Well, the space station is finished. So... If we can't build a decent replacement for the shuttle, return to the moon and explore Mars, we can at least try to keep the feminists happy. After all, we do have all those expensive assets at the Cape that need to be used for something.

Americans Dorothy Metcalf-Lindenburger and Stephanie Wilson and Japanese astronaut Naoko Yamazaki will launch with Discovery's seven-strong crew on Monday.

There they stand, paperwork at the ready.

Ms Wilson, 43, said she hoped the number of women in space would increase.

I think that we have made a great start and have paved the way with women now being able to perform the same duties as men in spaceflight.

That's just feminist babble. If history shows us anything, women will back off and let the men handle the tough, dangerous stuff. Why? They have much better survival instincts than us reckless males.

That's the truth of it. Men have always been the logical choice for those really grim situations where somebody may not come out alive. Men have always had that "Go out in a blaze of glory" mindset. Women, not so much.

Yes, yes... You can always point out a few women in the past who demonstrated the same "death wish" mindset of the typical glory-seeking male, but they weren't costing the taxpayers an extra few hundred million or so to live out their fantasies.

On the flip side, men have always wanted to buy their women expensive toys, fur coats, diamonds and the like, so why not an expensive space suit? Or a 60 million dollar seat on a spaceship?

The grim bottom line for space exploration has always been the cost. Money for space exploration was - and is - always incredibly hard to come by. Spending hundreds of millions on a separate but superfluous group of female astronauts was 100% non-productive. Great headlines though.

There are always hard choices to be made. NASA - having morphed itself into a political entity, did not make them.

I'll bet whatever you want to bet - if we had kept a operational shuttle fleet - That an all-female crew was in the works.

You know... for the record books.

Is there any other compelling reason? By all means, speak up.

7 Miles From The White House

A drive-by shooting that killed four and wounded five:

WASHINGTON (AP) - A crowd sprayed with bullets in a drive-by that killed four and wounded five had just returned from the funeral of man slain nearby and a 20-year-old is suspected in both shootings, according to authorities trying to prevent retaliation on Wednesday.

Two men and a 14-year-old boy accused of driving the minivan from which the bullets were fired were charged with first-degree murder in Tuesday night's shooting, the worst in D.C. in at least 16 years. One other person who was in the van was not caught, court documents said.

Judging from the obviously intentional omission in the article about the ethnicity of the victims and the shooters, one can assume that the shooters were minorities, probably assaulting individuals of a similar background.

Seven miles from the White House, mass murder in Washington, D.C.

I'll bet money that those neanderthals in Congress and the White House are starting to realize that the brave new world they have created just might be a dangerous place to be.
