How Long Must We Stay Stupid?

NATO officials said international forces and the Afghan National Police seized 5,000 components used in roadside bombs and 250 tons ammonium nitrate fertilizer.

That's the stuff that was mixed with diesel fuel and used in an IED to destroy the federal building in Oklahoma.

Meanwhile, American soldiers, deployed at two remote posts, were withdrawn from their positions because U.S. war commanders had decided the positions were not worth keeping.

Farooq Khan, a spokesman for the Afghan National Police in Nuristan province, said U.S. forces left behind arms and ammunition when they left the area, which he said is now in insurgent hands.

Nuristan's provincial police chief Gen. Mohammad Qassim Jangulbagh said, "The Americans left ammunition at the base."

Great, just great.

One arm of the federal government is sending tens of thousands of our soldiers to "defeat" terrorism, while another hand (the starry-eyed idiots who think they are sending fertilizer to help improve crops for the peasants) is sending tons and tons of ammonium nitrate that ends up in IED's to kill those very soldiers with.

To top it off, the solders themselves leave behind ammo and weapons for the enemy to just pick up and use.

And us? We pay for all this insanity.

But it's what you get, when you let generals - whose careers were spent behind a desk in Washington - make all the decisions.

Truman, for all his faults, at least had the balls to fire MacArthur, when that ego-crazed general wanted to expand the Korean war into China.

Today, we have another self-deluded general who wants to expand this war into Pakistan. But Obama doesn't have the balls Truman did.

But that's understandable, Obama is not running the show anyway. He's just a figurehead, a mouthpiece, a puppet. He is not in charge... Although millions believe he is.
