And A Real Person Responded

Just got a phone call from one of my Senator's office staff concerning an e-mail I had sent about those Mexican trucks rambling about the United States. He asked me to reiterate my views on the matter, so I did:

-1) They have lower safety standards than our trucks.
-2) They take away American jobs.
-3) They make it easier to smuggle in illegals and drugs.

I also said that if Mexico wants to impose tariffs on 91 of our products being imported to Mexico over the ending of a pilot program involving 100 trucks, then we should impose tariffs on all their stuff being imported to us.

That should have been the end of it, but I took the opportunity to dump on him a load of gripes and worries about this out-of-control Congress and federal government, all this insane spending, this empire-building mindset of this out-of-touch government.

I did apologize for going off-subject to which he replied, "I understand".

But, come to think of it, that was his standard reply.

How much hell did you have to raise and put a chunk under for THAT to happen!?
