Rice Comes To The Rescue

Just about the time I had decided there was nothing in the news today worth commenting about, Secretary of Something-Or-Other (SOO) Rice Steps forward.

That's the one dependable thing about politicians... not a day goes by that they don't want to be in the headlines...

Here's what SOO Rice is saying, according to Barry Schweid, AP Diplomatic Writer:
Denouncing Iran's successful enrichment of uranium as unacceptable to the international community, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Wednesday the U.N. Security Council must consider "strong steps" to induce Tehran to change course.
Oh... Secretary Of State(SOS) Rice.

Iran has now the ability to enrich uranium, but it is said by many analysts to lack the equipment, including a nuclear reactor with which to make nuclear weapons. But... SOS Rice brushed aside suggestions Iran was far from the goal of building any nuclear weapon as the United States and its allies suspect.

She said... "The world believes Iran has the capacity and the technology that lead to nuclear weapons."

She said ... "The world does not believe that Iran should have the capability and the technology that could lead to a nuclear weapon."

I find it amazing that this administration -- and it's mouthpieces -- can seriously claim they know what the "world believes", when they don't even know what the democrats are thinking.

SOS Rice also referred to "The United States and its Allies". I would love to see a list of those allies, so we all can know and understand just who is so nervous about Iran getting electricity made in reactors that are not capable of making nuclear weapons fuel.

As stated above, experts in the field (analysts) have mentioned the fact that Iran does not have the equipment -- including the necessary kind of reactor -- to do anything with their enriched uranium.

No matter. According to SOS Rice, it's what we and our allies (whoever they may be) believe that counts.

I see. We are to "brush aside" facts from experts, and go with what "we believe".

Hey, if that's good enough for President Bush to start another war, so who am I to question? Someone with a son of draftable age, that's who.

The beat on those massive "Drums of War" is hard to ignore. Dance, anyone? I'm certain that SOS Rice "got rhythm".
